This set sort of stalled for a while. I'm going to try rebuilding from the commons up. First thing I'm doing is getting rid of gestalt and entwine. Gestalt is a really tribal mechanic, and since this isn't a tribal set, it doesn't fit. Entwine somewhat works, but it feels tacked on (it is). I need some new mechanics that fit the flavor of a time travel world. Also, a mechanic that represents the Doctor going around saving innocent people from monster would be nice. I would love to hear suggestions, because I can't think of anything. In the second draft, I'm going to try to keep the complexity and power at reasonable levels. I don't feel that I went too high power-wise, but complexity was definitely through the roof. Who likes making vanilla creatures anyway? I'm also going to include more of the Doctor's companions as legendary creatures. I don't know why I thought having only Rory, Jack, and "Mickey" was a good idea. I also have no idea how Cthulhu got in here. |

: Put a preservation counter on target nonartifact creature. As long as it has a preservation counter on it, it is a colorless artifact and its activated abilities can't be activated. (It's no longer a creature.)
: Target player gains control of enchanted creature.
You write so honestly about this. Thanks for shainrg!
I haven't made any cards from this season yet, which is really more of a reflection of where the show is going. It's all about interpersonal relationships, not cool monsters or adventures.
Well, I'd argue it's a better than Think Tank in the same way that Sleight of Hand would be better than Opt if it wasn't a sorcery. That extra bit of knowledge can go a long way... especially if you're thinking about throwing away a spell for a land right now.
Now this is pretty similar to the eminently forgettable Think Tank, and probably doesn't need the activation cost.
I've had a couple of spam comments that appeared to be references to Pro Tour Magic players and their decks. I guess the spambot tries to find a blog somewhere where the preexisting content is vaguely similar to the page it's about to comment on, so that it can paste something that looks sortof relevant.
Actually relevant (almost) to the card? That's new.
Very clever Mr. Spambot. Very clever, indeed.
I remember this one, it ayennod me at the time.I've been through the pacifist-non-interventionist bit since, but now I'm with Sarah Jane again. The Doctor wimped out.Did the Dalek's ever claim to be doing their business (a lot of exterminationg mainly I guess) for the public good?I think not.Does that make it OK for the Dr to do use such a claim if he exterminates them?Again, probably not.But he's a Time Lord for gord's sake! Time Lords are supposed to be arrogant opinionated gits aren't they? Isn't that what it's all about?Like Tone and Dubya they're there to make these decisions. It's their job.And if they get it wrong we're all fecked. It wasn't like that in Dr Who, was it?
If the abilities are linked, then you can pay
as many times as you want and deal damage that many times. The current wording prevents that shenigan. I do like your costing, however. Unfortunately, it weakens all of the fun combos with Zedruu, Bazaar Trader, etc.
I thought it was probably meant to have "Any player may activate this ability" at first.
This might read more clearly as:
(Because why are you going to use any other means of gaining control of it?!)
More interestingly again, make this have mana cost
and the activated ability cost

, or similar.
